How take-home pay in Ireland is calculated

Irish pay is taxed at 20% up to the standard-rate band (44,000 EUR for a single person) and 40% above, but tax credits — the personal and PAYE credits together worth 4,000 EUR — are subtracted from the tax due.

On top of income tax, the Universal Social Charge (USC) applies on a banded 0.5%-8% scale, and PRSI is charged at 4.2% (rising to 4.35% from 1 October 2026). The calculator combines all three. Estimate, not tax advice.
