How motor tax in Ireland is calculated

Motor tax in Ireland for cars registered from 2008 is based on CO2 emissions, in bands. A zero-emission car pays 120 EUR a year, rising through the bands to 2,400 EUR for the highest emitters.

Cars registered before 2008 pay by engine size instead. The calculator uses the CO2 table. Estimate, not tax advice.
