Singapore holiday entitlement calculator (annual leave)
The Ministry of Manpower states the Employment Act entitlement as 7 days of paid annual leave in the first year of service, rising by one day a year to 14 from the eighth year. You are eligible after working at least 3 months, and the leave is pro-rated on the completed months you have worked in your current year of service.

How annual leave in Singapore is calculated
MOM’s table runs: *"1st 7, 2nd 8, 3rd 9, 4th 10, 5th 11, 6th 12, 7th 13, 8th and thereafter 14"*. Seven days is the **lowest first-year entitlement anywhere in this comparison**, and fourteen after eight years is still less than half the UK’s 28.
**But the ranking inverts at the short end, and that is the interesting part.** Türkiye gives nothing for a year. New Zealand gives nothing for a year. Brazil gives nothing for a year. Singapore gives a pro-rated share after **three months** — and MOM says expressly that this applies *"even if you’re still on probation"*. Ranked by headline figure Singapore comes last; ranked by what a four-month employee actually holds, it beats three countries that publish far bigger numbers.
**The table is indexed on the year you are in, not the years you have finished.** *"1st — 7"* means a brand-new employee with no complete years of service is on seven days. MOM gives a worked example: someone starting 14 March 2013 is on 7 days to 13 March 2014, 8 days to 13 March 2015, 9 days to 13 March 2016.
**And your year is yours.** *"Your year of service begins from the day you start work with your employer."* Like Switzerland’s Dienstjahr and South Africa’s leave cycle, it moves with the employee rather than resetting in January — so the pro-rata is measured against completed months of *your* year.
**Two limits worth knowing.** The entitlement applies to employees covered by the Employment Act, and MOM notes that managers and executives and some other groups are covered differently — this page does not test coverage. Public holidays are a separate entitlement, and contracts may give more than the statutory table.

Frequently asked questions
How many days annual leave am I entitled to in Singapore?
Seven days in your first year of service, then one more each year — 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 — up to 14 days from your eighth year and thereafter, per the Ministry of Manpower.
Do I get annual leave during probation?
Yes, once you have worked at least 3 months. MOM states that the pro-rated entitlement applies even if you are still on probation, based on the number of completed months you have worked.
How is pro-rated annual leave worked out?
On completed months. For 3 to 12 months of work it is based on the months you have completed; beyond a year, on the completed months worked in your current year of service.
When does my year of service start?
From the day you start work with your employer — not on 1 January. So your entitlement steps up on your work anniversary.
