How wynagrodzenie netto in Poland is calculated

Polish payroll deducts ZUS employee contributions (13.71%: pension, disability and sickness) from gross, then a 9% health premium on what remains — the health premium is not deductible from tax.

PIT is 12% of the base after monthly deductible costs, minus the monthly tax-reducing amount (equivalent to a 30,000 PLN annual free amount), with a 32% rate above 120,000 PLN a year. Workers under 26 are exempt from PIT up to a cap, which the under-26 toggle applies. Estimate, not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the net pay for 6,000 PLN gross in Poland?

On 6,000 PLN, ZUS takes 13.71%, the 9% health premium applies to the remainder, and 12% PIT less the tax-reducing amount leaves about 4,420 PLN net. The calculator shows each line.

How does the under-26 relief work?

Employees under 26 pay no PIT on income up to about 85,528 PLN a year. Toggle it on and the net rises by the PIT that would otherwise be due.

Why is the health premium not deductible?

Since 2022 the 9% health contribution can no longer be offset against PIT, so it is a straight deduction from take-home pay.
