How net salary in Estonia is calculated
Estonia keeps its payroll refreshingly simple. From 2026 the basic exemption is a flat 700 EUR per month for everyone, removing the income-based tapering that made earlier years fiddly.
Two contributions come off gross first: 1.6% unemployment insurance and 2% funded pension (II pillar). Income tax is then a flat 22% on what remains after those contributions and the 700 EUR exemption.
