How motorsteuer in Austria is calculated
For cars first registered from October 2020, Austria's engine-related insurance tax (motorbezogene Versicherungssteuer) is a monthly charge: 0.72 EUR for each kW over 65 plus 0.72 EUR for each gram of CO2 over 115.
It is collected together with the compulsory insurance premium. The calculator returns the monthly and annual figures. Estimate, not tax advice.
