# Take Home Pay Calculator UK 2026-27 — net salary

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/uk/net-salary

Your UK take-home pay is your gross minus income tax (after the personal allowance) and employee National Insurance, plus any pension contribution you make.

**Tax year:** 2026-27

## How it is calculated

For the 2026-27 tax year (rest of the UK), everyone starts with a 12,570 GBP personal allowance — the slice of income taxed at 0%. Above 100,000 GBP that allowance tapers away by 1 GBP for every 2 GBP of income, disappearing entirely by 125,140 GBP.

Income above the allowance is taxed at 20% up to the basic-rate limit, 40% in the higher band, and 45% at the top. Employee National Insurance is charged separately on gross earnings: 8% between the primary threshold and the upper earnings limit, then 2% above it.

A workplace pension contribution reduces both your taxable income and your take-home, so the calculator exposes it as a percentage. Scotland runs its own income-tax bands; this page models the rest-of-UK rates. Estimates only — not tax advice.

## Worked example

With Gross annual salary of 35,000 GBP, this model computes Net / month of 2,393.30 GBP.
