# Annual Leave Calculator UAE 2026 — 30 Days, 2 A Month In Year 1

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/uae/holiday-entitlement

Under article 29 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 a worker is entitled to at least 30 days of fully paid annual leave for each year of service. In the first year the rate is two days for each month once service passes six months, so eleven months gives 22 days; the final part year when you leave is in proportion to the time worked.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

Article 29(1) gives fully paid annual leave of not less than *thirty days for each year of service*, *two days for each month where service is more than six months and less than a year*, and *leave for the parts of the final year spent at work* where service ends before the balance is used.

**The first-year rate is not a twelfth of thirty.** Two days a month is 24 a year, so a worker on eleven months has **22** days, not the 27.5 a straight pro-rata would give. The full 30 arrive with the first completed year — a six-day jump at month twelve that calculators which simply divide 30 by twelve miss.

**"More than six months" is strict.** At exactly six completed months the first-year rule gives nothing; the seventh month gives 14 days at once. Before that, leave during probation is at the employer’s discretion (art. 29(3)).

**After the first year, a final part year is proportional.** Art. 29(9) pays leave *for the parts of the year in proportion to the time spent at work*, at the basic wage — five months is 30 × 5 ÷ 12 = 12.5 days. Part-time workers take leave by hours actually worked, as set in the contract (art. 29(2)); this page models full-time service.
