# Yıllık Ücretli İzin Hesaplama 2026 — 14, 20 Veya 26 Gün

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/turkey/holiday-entitlement

Article 53 of the İş Kanunu gives annual paid leave only to workers who have completed at least one year of service, probation included — so the statutory entitlement in the first year is zero. After that it is at least 14 days for one to five years of service, at least 20 for more than five and under fifteen, and at least 26 from fifteen years. Workers aged 18 and under, and 50 and over, get at least 20 days whatever their service.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

*"İşyerinde işe başladığı gününden itibaren, deneme süresi de içinde olmak üzere, en az bir yıl çalışmış olan işçilere yıllık ücretli izin verilir."* Read the first clause before the numbers: until a full year has been worked, probation included, the statutory entitlement is **nothing at all**. Türkiye is the only country in this comparison where that is so — everywhere else a part year earns a fraction, a twelfth a month, or a percentage of hours.

**Then three bands, and their edges are inclusive in the directions the article states.** At least **14 days** for *"Bir yıldan beş yıla kadar (beş yıl dahil)"* — one to five years, with five included. At least **20** for *"Beş yıldan fazla onbeş yıldan az"*, more than five and less than fifteen. At least **26** for *"Onbeş yıl (dahil) ve daha fazla"*. So five years is still 14, and fourteen years is still 20.

**The age floor goes both ways, which no other country here does.** *"Ancak onsekiz ve daha küçük yaştaki işçilerle elli ve daha yukarı yaştaki işçilere verilecek yıllık ücretli izin süresi yirmi günden az olamaz."* Workers **18 and under** and workers **50 and over** both get at least 20 days — so a 17-year-old and a 55-year-old with two years of service each get 20 where a 30-year-old colleague gets 14.

**These days are already net, so there is no working-week conversion.** Article 56: *"Yıllık ücretli izin günlerinin hesabında izin süresine rastlayan ulusal bayram, hafta tatili ve genel tatil günleri izin süresinden sayılmaz."* National holidays, the weekly rest day and general holidays falling inside the leave are not counted against it. Fourteen days means fourteen days of actual leave — directly comparable with Japan’s 10 and the UK’s 28, and **not** with Ukraine’s 24 calendar days.

**Two more rules.** Underground workers get four extra days on every band. And the qualifying year is a moving target: article 54 adds to it any interruption outside the list in article 55, pushing the anniversary into the next service year, while combining service across any workplace of the same employer.
