# Salary Calculator Malta — net take-home pay

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/malta/net-salary

Your Maltese net salary is gross minus Class 1 social security and income tax on the single rates.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

Maltese payroll deducts Class 1 social security (10% of the basic weekly wage, capped) from gross, then charges income tax on the single-person scale.

Malta uses a subtraction method: tax is a rate times income minus a fixed per-band amount, giving 0/15/25/35% effective bands. Married and parent computations use different scales. Estimate, not tax advice.

## Worked example

With Gross annual salary of 22,000 EUR, this model computes Net / month of 1,475 EUR.
