# Take Home Pay Calculator Ireland — net salary

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/ireland/net-salary

Your Irish take-home is gross minus income tax (20% then 40%, less credits), the Universal Social Charge and PRSI.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

Irish pay is taxed at 20% up to the standard-rate band (44,000 EUR for a single person) and 40% above, but tax credits — the personal and PAYE credits together worth 4,000 EUR — are subtracted from the tax due.

On top of income tax, the Universal Social Charge (USC) applies on a banded 0.5%-8% scale, and PRSI is charged at 4.2% (rising to 4.35% from 1 October 2026). The calculator combines all three. Estimate, not tax advice.

## Worked example

With Gross annual salary of 40,000 EUR, this model computes Net / month of 2,798.93 EUR.
