## How it is calculated

The gepjarmuado is Hungary's annual vehicle tax, based purely on engine power in kilowatts and the age of the car.

The per-kW rate steps down with age: in 2026 it is 375 HUF/kW for cars up to 3 years old, then 325, 250, 205 and 150 HUF/kW for the oldest. The calculator multiplies power by the band rate. Estimate, not tax advice.
