## How it is calculated

Greek payroll deducts EFKA employee contributions of 13.37% on a base capped at 7,761.94 EUR a month, then charges income tax on the 2026 scale: 9% to 10,000 EUR, then 20%, 26%, 34%, 39% from 40,000 and 44% above 60,000 EUR.

A tax reduction of 777 EUR (no children) comes off the bill, shrinking by 20 EUR for every 1,000 EUR of taxable income above 12,000 EUR. Salaries are typically paid over 14 instalments. Estimate, not tax advice.
