# Výpočet dovolené 2026 — Czech annual leave in hours (4 weeks)

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/czechia/holiday-entitlement

Czech annual leave is at least 4 weeks (5 at public employers, 8 for teachers and academics) and since 2021 it is counted in hours: your weekly working hours times the number of weeks. A full-time 40-hour employee gets 160 hours, or 20 days; a part year earns one fifty-second per week worked, once at least four weeks have been worked.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

§ 212: *"Výměra dovolené činí nejméně 4 týdny v kalendářním roce."* Employers in the public sector (§ 109(3)) give **5 weeks**, and teachers and university academics **8**.

**The unit is hours, not days.** § 213 multiplies your stated weekly hours by the leave measure for a full 52 weeks worked — 40 hours × 4 weeks = **160 hours**. A part-timer on 20 hours over four days gets 80 hours, which is still 16 of their own working days. The page converts the hours into days of your week.

**A part year runs on weeks.** Each week worked earns one fifty-second of the full entitlement, but only once you have worked at least **four weeks** with the employer that year — three weeks earns nothing. More than 52 weeks under a shift roster extends it further (§ 213(5)).
