# Платен годишен отпуск 2026 — Bulgaria annual leave (20+ days)

Source page: https://valem.run/calculators/bulgaria/holiday-entitlement

Under article 155 of the Bulgarian Labour Code the basic paid annual leave is at least 20 working days. Article 156 adds at least 5 working days for work under specific risks and 5 for an irregular working day. A first-time employee can use the leave after 4 months.

**Tax year:** 2026

## How it is calculated

Article 155(4): *"Размерът на основния платен годишен отпуск е не по-малко от 20 работни дни."* — **20 working days** as a floor, which collective and individual agreements commonly raise.

Two statutory supplements stack on top (art. 156): **at least 5 working days** for work under specific risks to life and health that cannot be removed, and **at least 5** for an **irregular working day** (ненормиран работен ден) — so an employee with both has at least 30.

Someone starting work for the first time can use the leave once they have **4 months** of service; leaving before that brings compensation instead of days. Some categories get extended leave set by the Council of Ministers, which is not modelled here.

## Worked example

With Irregular working day of 0, this model computes Days Entitled of 20.
